  • Warm Weather Causes Delays In Two Chicago Favorites

    One of the holiday season's most popular activities is ice skating in Millennium Park. The rink was orginally supposed to open yesterday, but this "fall" has been so unseasonably warm in Chicago they've had to push it back a week. It's tentatively schedule to open next Wednesday, November 19. Once open it will remain open until March 15 of 2009. Skating's free and the rental is $10.

  • I Saw Michael Jackson at Double Door

    Well, technically it wasn't Michael Jackson. I also didn't really see Eddie Money and Aerosmith. I did, however, see bands dressing up like them and playing their music, and it was hilarious.

    Every year for Halloween Double Door invites local acts to cover - physically and musically - iconic bands. They may not be perfect covers or perfect costumes, but that's not what it's about. The Double Door is one of the best venues in the city for original music so this night is just for kicking back and having a good time.
