Golden Triangle's Sidewalk Sale
Think Paris Flea Market crossed with Bangkok's Chatuchak, moved to Chicago for a week of en plein air bargain-hunting.
This year's sale will be the largest ever with over 200 items from 15 countries on display. Each piece comes with a description of its national origin, material and usage, and has been beautifully restored.
Best of all, the bargains are real. The store's tented parking lot will be packed with tables, cabinets, chairs, lamps, wood carvings, mirrors and more, at savings up to 50% off. A Chinese medicine chest that was $4,500 is now $2,250. A paper mache rice box that was $280 is now $120. An antique French chair expertly reupholstered in stunning chartreuse that was $3,900 and is now $1950.
On Fridays and Saturdays during the sale, refreshments will be served and Chinese drummers will perform at lunchtime. Limited free parking is available.
