The food here has gone downhill. When it first opened, I was in love with the maple bacon donuts (really dense little funnel cakes, sweet fried dough, maple glaze and topped with thick cut bacon pieces)and the delicious corned beef hash. On our return, we were shocked that there was no wait at 10:30 on a Saturday morning since we waited 45 minutes last winter, but now I know why. The food still sounds delicious, but tastes very average. My duck hash had some nice flavors, but didn't blow me away. My friend said his steak and eggs were very bland. I ordered the cucumber/mint housemade soda. It looked delicious but tasted like pickle juice. I decided if our waitress asked me how it was, I would tell her my honest opinion, but she never did. So it sat there with one sip gone for the whole 45 minutes we were there. With Peasantry around the corner serving amazing "upscale street food" (their description), there's no need to come back to 2 Sparrows. Disappointing, because I thought they had a lot of potential. kajackso, Fri, 12/14/2012 - 9:09am |
