Rink At Wrigley Opens Saturday

The Local Tourist's picture

Last year on New Year's Day Wrigley Field was turned into a giant skating rink. It was such a success the new Cubs owners are adding a semi-permanent rink to the Friendly Confines. It won't actually be on the field, but its location in the parking lot at Clark & Addison puts it right next to the iconic park.

Originally set for a soft opening today, the rink will now open to the public on Saturday at 11am and will remain open daily through February 2010. Unlike the McCormick Tribune and the Chicago Park District rinks there will be a charge of $10 for adults and $6 for kids to get on the ice. Skate rental will be additional but how much is not on their website yet (which I asked how much it would be I was told it would be on the site). If you can wait until next Monday or Tuesday the rink fee is half off.
