New & Improved Navigation
30 June 2007 Send To a FriendDid you know that you could find radio stations on The Local Tourist? What about the City Clerk’s office or quotes about Chicago or a theatrical school?
I didn’t think so.
It’s all been there, but unfortunately the old navigation structure didn’t make that all too clear. Heck, even Hotels were buried in the City Info category. And if you wanted to search you had to not only go to the home page, you had to know that’s where to go. Not too user-friendly, if you ask me. Considering the rest of the categories are pretty intuitive, like Things To Do and Dining & Nightlife, that lack of clarity just wouldn’t do.
So, if you look up, you’ll see a whole new navigation bar. Things To Do, Dining & Nightlife, and Shopping & Services are all to the left. Hotels gets its very own button. Getting Around is expanded so it’s easier to get to the pages you need (which just makes sense), and Living In Chicago is for residents looking for schools, churches & synagogues, etc. (Utilities will be added by Monday).
Fun Stuff contains all the things that make you want to play around on TLT for awhile. These include the band of the week, the new trivia quiz, photos of this magnificent city, and, of course, the blog!
(I think Search is pretty self-explanatory.)
I sincerely hope this makes TLT easier to use. After all, the point is to be able to find the information you’re looking for as quickly as possible. And, hopefully, to have a little fun while you’re at it. If you have any suggestions/comments let me know!
