Podcast Friday - Poetry Foundation
Did you know there was a poetry podcast here in Chicago? Yeah, I was pleased to find this out. How cool is this? The podcast is presented by the Poetry Foundation who publishes Poetry Magazine and both are the pride of Chicago. Poetry Magazine was founded in 1912 by Harriet Monroe, who wanted to give poetry its own place and she literally made that happen. The building is open to the public with a public garden, library, gallery and offices for the Poetry Foundation as well as Poetry Magazine and it sits right in the near north side neighborhood area.
Today’s Podcast Friday spotlight, the Poetry Foundation Audio and Podcast, offers various shows; Poetry Off the Shelf, Poetry Magazine, Poems of the Day, Poem Talk, Essential American Poets, Poetry Lectures and more. I wrote a lot of poetry in high school, back in the day when audio pleasure came from tape cassettes, and I know if podcast where a source available to me I would have became the Poetry Foundation’s #1 fan. Notwithstanding, this definitely doesn’t mean I can’t become one now.
Be sure to download Poetry Foundation podcast on your listening pleasure device of choice and remember –
