Looking@Democracy Offers You A Digital Media Challenge
Do you have a great idea as to how we can have a more bipartisan government or maybe any idea as to how we as a country can work together to strengthen our democracy? Looking@Democracy, a project of the Illinois Humanities Council, with support from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, is offering $100,000 in prize money for your ideas in the form of short, provocative media submissions. I know that there are some who are using media to help get their name out there for the purpose of some sort of ‘stardom’, whatever that means as online media advances. And there are others who want to use their creativity to change our society for the better, with a specific purpose of aiming to maintaining the essence of what our democracy stands for and, if possible, open the eyes of those who can contribute to making it a better and fair system.
