Urban Shop Guide

28 October 2007 Send To a Friend

When people think of shopping in Chicago, they generally think of Michigan Avenue. It’s the easiest location to find, and all of the chains are familiar. However, Chicago is loaded with boutiques, if you just know where to look.

Urban Shop Guide GroupThat’s where Urban Shop Guide comes in. This new tour company, founded by Julie Cameron, introduces shoppers to neighborhood stores in Wicker Park/Bucktown and Lincoln Park with guided walks. Away from the Magnificent Mile and owned by locals, the boutiques provide a more customized and personal experience.

Urban Shop Guide Group in storeYou can either meet at a predetermined location, or they’ll provide transportation to and from downtown. If you prefer to be on your own timetable, they’ll create a customized guide complete with maps. For special events (or as a great gift!) you can even book a private tour. Participants get discounts at many of the shops.
