Free Evenings at the Art Institute

Chicago’s Art Institute is one of the top museums in the world. Besides the largest collection of Impressionism works outside the Louvre and an extensive contemporary exhibit, there are works from every continent. The Thorne Miniature Rooms offer a peek into homes and salons from the 1200s to the 1930s. Children (of all ages!) love the Arms and Armor collection.
On Thursday and Friday evenings in the summer, the Institute opens their doors to these wonders, and the rest of their world-renowned halls, for free! Plus there’s live music, tours at 5:30 and 7pm, and art activities for kids. Food and drinks are available in the Garden Restaurant.
