Christmas Tree Farms

8 December 2007 Send To a Friend

For many in the midwest, choosing a Christmas tree from an actual farm is a tradition. There obviously aren’t any that are actually in Chicago, but there are a few in the region, and one is as close as Downer’s Grove. The Agriculture & Tourism Partners of Illinois has a list. Don’t have a car? Check into Zip Car or IGo. Both services rent “community” vehicles for those infrequent trips to the store, the suburban relatives, or going over the river and through the woods to find the perfect tree. Just be sure to bring protective covering so you don’t get those pesky needles all over the place.
