Dive Into Nisei Lounge

Not only is Nisei Lounge Wrigleyville's oldest bar, it was also voted the best dive bar in Wrigleyville.  You may not even notice Nisei when you wander past because it doesn't have a flashy, fancy sign but once you step inside you're in for some fun.  If you want to just hang out at a bar and have a good time, then this is the place for you.  Nisei features one bar with good-humored, friendly bartenders who know how to make great drinks.  You can sit at the bar or relax at one of a few small tables nearby.  The bar features a pool table and a jukebox to play all of your favorite tunes.  Also, gather with your friends for some good old-fashioned board games.  Yes, that's right, you can play board games at this bar!  Or, try your hand at darts.  Whatever your game of choice, you are sure to enjoy it.  Or enjoy a local sports game on one of a few different tv's in the bar.  I hear this place is hopping during Cubs season!

Nisei doesn't have a ktichen but will let you place orders for food at nearby establishments.  They do have an awesome popcorn machine and best of all, it's free!  Something else that makes this bar stand apart from others is their guest bartending for charity nights.  They do this on Thursday's and each week features a different charity that is fundraising.  They allow you to try your hand behind the bar and you keep all tips for your charity.  It is great that they help support local charities.

I have only been to Nisei Lounge twice but will definitely return.  One evening was a Saturday and it was very busy.  The other time was a guest bartending night, when I was able to bartend for three hours to raise money for a charity that is close to my heart.  Overall an amazing experience and a lot of fun.
