Green Grocer Chicago is owned by West Town residents Cassie Green and Gary Stephens. Owner/operator Cassie's enthusiasm for sustainable food and cooking led to the vision for Green Grocer Chicago. This intimate neighborhood market features organically grown, locally produced food products and specialty items. They work primarily with Midwestern sources, providing their customers with the freshest food available, while supporting the local economy.

Cassie and her wonderful staff provide a better alternative to the typical commercial supermarket. Where can you shop that you are on a first name basis with your grocer? In addition, Green Grocer Chicago also offers produce CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) shares.

To celebrate their 4-year anniversary, they will be hosting a party on Sunday January 29th, 2012 from 10am-7pm at the store, located at 1402 West Grand Avenue. Samples of local and organic food and drinks will be given away to celebrate this exciting occasion for this little store.  Here is the schedule of vendors as well as links to information about them:

10am-1pm:
Crumb Bakery breads

Co-Op Hot Sauce
Crop to Cup coffee

Faith’s Farm bacon and breakfast sausage

4pm-7pm:

Pasta Puttana fresh pasta
BOT Bakery vegan/gluten free baked goodies

"Green Grocer Chicago is Chicago’s original little grocer that is dedicated to finding the best local, organic, delicious foods and booze. We hope you can make it to our party - we’d love to see you there!"
