Monday Nights Just Got Better!
Many of us dread the start of the week. Well, I have something delicious to share with you to shake off those Monday blues. Head over to bellyQ on Mondays for their Ramen Night. Every Monday a different ramen is featured, announced on Facebook and Twitter. If you have visited Chef BIll Kim's sister restaurant Urban Belly, then you are familiar with his noodle handiwork. Expect the same signature complex and flavorful broths, perfectly cooked noodles. and innovative ingredient combinations.
For about $13, you will receive a pretty substantial bowl of ramen heaven, as I would describe it. I have tried three of the ramen selections - all unique. Lamb shank with chimachurri, spicy shicken wings in bacon broth, and my favorite tribute to al pastor - pig's face, pineapple, and jicama. Are you salivating yet?
It is a pretty affordable dinner if you order a bowl of ramen and a cocktail. However, I also like to take advantage of Chef' Kim's delectable menu items with my ramen, such as Thai Style Fried Chicken (with sweet chili and lime) and spinach (with quinoa, dried shrimp, and Chinese sausage). Of course, I always save room for dessert, so a dinner here would not be complete with a signature Chef Kim soft serve or dessert. The Passionfruit ice is my favorite, which tops the vanilla soft serve with coconut jelly. You also cannot go wrong with the Huckleberry Ice with lime basil seed. The Vietnamese Cinnamon Donuts give you two desserts in one with a side of vanilla soft serve and huckleberry jam. For the ultimate childhood throwback, check out the Peanut Butter & Jelly, peanut butter crunch and berry jelly intertwined in vanilla soft serve. The peanut butter crunch reminds me of a gourmet version of Captain Crunch cereal.
So, shake off the Monday blues and a night off from cooking. Let Chef Kim and his staff provide you with an opportunity to kick back and relax, without breaking the bank.
