This Thursday, June 7, take a walk around the Loop between 5pm and 8pm. Notice the people with bright green wrist bands? Notice the people with bright green wrist bands looking at matching bright green cards? Those cards have maps on them. The people with the wrist bands are participating in Pop-Up Art Loop.
Pop-Up Art Loop takes place on the first Thursday of every month (with the exception of July, when it will be the second Thursday) through October. Tired after work? Don’t hop on the train with everyone else, resenting every one else who, like you, is just trying to get home. Instead, stay in the Loop, go to any or all of five participating galleries, some of which would be empty storefronts but for Pop-Up Art Loop, and relax.
Relax whilst looking at contemporary art. Relax whilst meeting some of the artists who create unique and amazing work. Relax whilst sipping wine or beer, which is served at all of the gallery locations (please tip appropriately). Relax knowing when you finally do hop on the train you’ll be able to get a seat.
Last month’s Pop-Up Art Loop had some gorgeous artwork on display, some of which can be seen in the accompanying photo gallery. June’s Pop-Up Art Loop is sure to offer equally visually stimulating work.
Begin at any of the five locations – 108 N. State (inside Block 37), 23 E. Madison, 77 S. Dearborn, 208 S. Wabash, 220 S. Wabash – and make your way around the Loop discovering new art, rediscovering great architecture, and imbibing in light refreshments available at each of the locations.
Whether you’re able to make it on Thursday, check back for another photo gallery of the art on display for June 7 Pop-Up Art Loop.
