Friends of Chicago Animal Care and Control Hosts Big Night
Thursday evening is Big Night, the 9th Annual Celebrity Chefs Benefit for – you guess it – Chicago Animal Care and Control. More importantly, the beneficiaries are the residents of Chicago Animal Care and Control, the city's neediest animals.
Full disclosure: I am a volunteer at Chicago Animal Care and Control so I have seen the many, many animals that need food, shelter, socialization, and, most of all, permanent caring homes. This is an organization, and they are animals, that can use all the help they can get.
So shell out a few scheckles for delicious food from local chefs – because we all know Chicago has the best chefs. Admission includes an open bar to help wash down the great food, and the opportunity to participate in both silent and live auctions. The event will be emceed by local TV celeb Jim Rose as well as style guru Lakesha Rose. Entertainment will be provided by classical violinist Katarina Visnevska.
Put on your fancy duds and know that you're doing some good for animals desperately in need. If that doesn't convince you, maybe this will: I will be in attendance (volunteering).
Tickets are $100 in advance or $125 at the door.
