ROLLER JAM: Indie Cinema, Live Music, & Roller Derby! {Guest Post}
Come and take springtime to the next level at ROLLER JAM with Scotchworthy Productions as they celebrate the upcoming production of their second feature length motion picture, THE STORM! The evening promises to be a one of kind event celebrating independent cinema, local music, and roller derby culture on SATURDAY, MAY 12, 2012.
The event is set to take place at one of the cities most beloved and notorious venues, the Portage Theater (4050 North Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago, IL 60641).
“I can’t wait to show everyone what we’ve been working on these past six months,” says writer/director Tony Wash, ”So many people have worked day and night week after week after week preparing to make this film. I can’t imagine a better way to kick start this production than hosting an event unlike any we’ve ever done!”
The evening is truly jam-packed. Doors open at 5PM. Come early and meet the filmmakers and other industry professionals, learn about the sport of roller derby, and of course, meet our gorgeous heroines, the Antonio Bay Bombshells.
The main event starts at 7PM, with the second official showing of Scotchworthy’s award winning Nazi zombie short film A Chance In Hell, as well as the debut of the extended, uncut teaser trailer for their upcoming film, The Storm!
And for those who can’t get enough, ROLLER JAM will finish strong with powerhouse performances during what is sure to be an epic battle of the bands contest. The winner will be featured in Scotchworthy Productions upcoming film scheduled to begin production summer 2012!
All ages are welcomed to attend. Advanced tickets are available online (http://www.fanfueled.com/Event/Details/2535-roller-jam) for $15 / $20 day of the event. Beer (21+) and other concessions will be available for purchase. See you there!
