In 1926 at the age of 16, a boy known as Lionel Sternberger skipped becoming a man and went straight to legend when he dropped a slab of cheese on a sizzling hamburger. On September 18, 2013 we celebrate, not Lionel, but his amazing creation and so can you, all over the great city of Chicago.

Per ushe, Rockit Bar & Grill (and Rockit Burger Bar) is launching a round three winner with The Triple featuring three juicy black angus patties, swiss, cheddar and habnero jack cheese, applewood smoked bacon, shredded lettuce, tomato, pickles and mayo on a toasted bun.

Right down the street, you should get back on The Grid because they're slangin an well grounded Grid Burger, featuring bacon BBQ sauce, crispy shallots, pickles, umami mayo and an egg bun.

Never thought you'd be able to enjoy 25 Degrees in Chicago right? Laugh in the face of winter with their "Number One", featuring caramelized onions, vela toma, aderkasse reserve, bacon, arugula and thousand island. That's right - Chicagoans talk islands at 25 degrees.

While we're getting crazy, why not attack The Federales and experience a few rebellious minutes of Lockdown? Mugshots aren't included, but you will get jalapeno relish, chorizo, fried egg, valentine hot sauce and smoked pepper mayo. Just slip the warden a dollar or two and he'll give you whatever kind cheese you want.

Five minutes out of the slammer and we're ready to rock. Fear not headbanger because Kuma's Corner is serving up a juicy helping of Black Sabbath with blackening spice, housemade chili, paperjack and red onion.

No chicken or egg conundrum here, the cheese came first, but found it's match made in burger heaven much later. Now it's your responsibility to enjoy what our great ancestors never had the chance to. Don't disgrace your ancestors - get out and order up a cheeseburger on September 18th.
