I’m so happy to tell you about a new weight loss reality show created by fitness expert Andrea Metcalf. You know this best selling author of Naked Fitness from The NBC Today Show, Pain Free Workout Series, and Good Day Radio.
Yup. That’s the name of the show where 8 of Chicago’s top trainers put their money on the table and pay people to lose 30% of their weight in only 12 weeks- Contestants get $10 for every pound their trainers help them lose! What makes this show different is that there are so many ways to lose weight and be healthy that it’s an opportunity to tune in and see what type of fitness you and your body might gravitate to before gravity takes over.
I first met Andrea at The Anti-Cruelty Society when she was teaching a Pawsilates class. Picture me showing up to exercise with Junebug, my six pound Yorkie--it was great, I didn’t even break a sweat (like the women with the big slobber dogs did) and I was the one who got interviewed by WGN-TV’s Marcus Leshock.
I adore Andrea Metcalf and she is the perfect hostess for this hour long program on the NBC NONSTOP. She’s the authority on health and fitness with her proven weight loss books and programs and she's a big believer in group exercise. According to Andrea, “The best way to start a weight loss program is to stop procrastinating. If a reality TV forum is what works for some, or getting paid to lose weight works for others, the real goal is to get started! I encourage our at home audience to get on the floor and pump with us…sitting on the sofa won’t help you meet your fitness goals!”
Metcalf’s proudest victories are in other’s results, including Mike Burton-- an overweight man from Cincinnati with severe health issues--who she trained one-on-one to help him lose 100 lbs in 90 days. Andrea also hosted a Chicago weight loss competition for 30 people and the group lost a collective 340 pounds in less than four weeks. The “Naked Fitness” Chicago initiative was based on her book, a simple diet, 10-minute alignment program and two hours of walking per day.
