Pete Miller's Seafood and Prime Steak

There is nothing better than a vigorously shaken Absolut martini with bacon wrapped scallops for an appetizer while listening to live jazz on an impromptu Saturday night out for dinner. And there is nothing more satisfying than following drinks and appetizers than with a wedge salad and a 16 oz. bone-in filet. Of course, you can find many fine steak and seafood restaurants in downtown Chicago that have live music but I found one that I could get into without a reservations where I didn’t have to wait two hours. 

Of course, I’m lucky, I live in Uptown and it’s just as easy for me to drive north as it is to drive downtown and hassle with parking so David, my BF, and me chose to drive to Evanston where we found Pete Miller’s Seafood and Prime Steak. We loved the steaks and we loved that the dining rooms, bars, and stage was spacious and still cozy. Furthermore, we loved how the sound was not of wall-to-wall, standing and waiting-to-eat people who had to shout to be heard--the sound level was so comfortable and that made our delicious meal all the more enjoyable.

Pete Miller’s Seafood and Prime Steak has two locations, one in Evanston and one in Wheeling and you can make reservations online. They serve only the finest beef cuts and seafood. Live music, swank and service are their specialty. I am giving Pete Miller’s two-thumbs up. I can’t wait to go back and dine in their patio. I think I’ll call ahead next time!
