Cutting Room Floor: a podcast for Film Lovers and Independent Artists

Cutting Room Floor

(This is an update to my original OCT, 2011, blog.

Today is Feb 3rd, 2012, 6pm,

and I'll be on The Cutting Room Floor at 9pm Central Time!)

Do you love movies, pop culture, reading, writing, social media, or music? Ya-huh. Of course you do. But I bet you don’t love all the many visual and audio artist mediums as much as Casey Ryan does. He’s made a career out of his love for all things artists produce which entertain and bring joy and culture to the public.

Casey Ryan has a huge following of listeners to his pod cast where he interviews his guest from his Montreal studio and I am one of his fans. Since his show is in podcast format, I listen to Casey’s show, The Cutting Room Floor, while I do my blogging for The Local Tourist. I’m never at a loss for inspiration when I hear his guests, such as, Sean Hackett, a Hollywood filmmaker, talking about 911 and his film, Homecoming, about a soldier in the war. Or hearing how an independent film director like, Ron Purtee, uses social media to market his film. And just learning from, Julia Wade, what it’s like to be a Composer Classical Artist Entertainer makes me feel, as an artist, that’s okay to love what I do and get paid for it!

Tune in to Cutting Room Floor on Sundays at 11a.m. CST, 12p.m. EDT.  AND there are ocassional Friday shows, 9pm Central, of which I will be on. You can always listen to the show I was on , just go to past shows, and check out the dates. Casey Ryan’s show is only 30 minutes.  You can sign in to listen and you will be able to ask the guests questions in real time.  Or, just go back and listen to his archived shows like I do.  Follow Casey Ryan on Twitter @CuttingRoomMRB

If you love films and arts and culture, you owe it to yourself to discover Cutting Room Floor.  Cutting Room Floor is on the TalkShoe.com network. It’s an easy, no-bother, sign-in.  Casey's guests are a who's who of independant thinkers with an edge. He has directors of horror films and starlettes from the U.K. and he even had The Stowatch Gang on.

I met Casey Ryan via Twitter @CuttingRoomMRB   He had tweeted an invitation, to anyone who had an independent artist project that needed a little public recognition, to let him know and he would like do a shout-out plug on his show and/or on twitter.  I took him at his word and asked him to mention my book, Mafia Hairdresser.  That same day I listened to his show, Cutting Room Floor, and he did, indeed, give me a nice handshake and plug on the podcast. Thank you, Casey. Not only does your love for artists, films and pop-culture show up on your show, you inspire me to do as you do and I now try to shine light on the many talents I find: on TheLocalTourist.com.
