Ultimate Ravinia Picnic Contest
Ravinia is one of my happy places. Every year I go at least once to enjoy great music in a beautiful setting. At least that's what I tell myself, when veterans know that one of the main draws is the elaborate picnic setups. Stroll the grounds before a Chicago Symphony concert and you'll see more than checkered tablecloths and egg salad sandwiches. Shrimp cocktail and ripe berries, assorted cheeses and antipasti, roasted chicken and sliced filet are exquisitely arranged on tables decorated with flowers and candles.
If you're one of those seasoned pros who believes that Ravinia is not just a venue but an experience (and you've got pictures to prove it), you have a chance to win a season pass for two to next year's festival and the chance to recreate your picnic during NBC5's morning show. Wayne Johnson, NBC5's lifestyle expert, will be judging the entries and will choose the best couples, group, and family picnics. Since the concert's sponsored by Rutherford Hill Winery, use of their wines is a factor.
For complete details and to submit your entry, visit www.raviniawines.com. The contest ends August 20, so make sure you enter before the fat lady sings.
