Taste of TLT - June 10, 2011
It's Friday, and that means we tell you where to go all weekend long.
Today's podcast may sound a little different. Since Monday we've been driving Route 66 and from today's show through our return on June 21 we'll be recording from the road. If you'd like to follow us, you can see where we're going and where we've been at route66.thelocaltourist.com. While we're gone, it's up to YOU to get out there and enjoy Chicago as much as possible!
That's easy to do with events like this weekend. If you're looking for live music Grant Park is all about the blues. The Chicago Blues Festival takes place over three days and four stages. Rock & Roll fans can go to Old Town for Party at St. Mike's. This annual summer festival occurs at the same time as the Old Town Art Fair.

Summer and ribs go together like, well, summer and ribs! Get your fill at the 2011 Chicago Ribfest. Since music goes together with summer and ribs like...well, you get it, this event is also a music festival with a blend of Indie, pop, rock, and country.
If the heat's getting to you then cool off at the Shedd Aquarium. General admission is free on Sunday. Just be aware that you may have to wait outside for awhile since this is one of the few times it's free on the weekend. This begins their Community Discount Week, though, so you can go through Friday instead.
Have a great day!
Music: The awesome intro and outro music is from Chicago singer/songwriter David Kav
