Taste of TLT - January 25, 2012
The goal of gapersblock.com is to get you to slow down, soak things in a bit. They don't just mean online; they also think you should get off the computer and get out there. Join them tonight for their monthly get-together. This time it's at new River North spot Highball Lounge. It starts at 6 and the first drink is on them.
Kartemquin Films is known for creating riveting films, and "The Interrupters" is one of the most talked-about documentaries of 2011. It follows three CeaseFire "violence interrupters" who put their lives on the line to save others. See the free screening at the Evanston Public Library and stay after to discuss the film with one of its stars and Evanston's Mayor.
Quartino is hosting its monthly wine bash tonight. For $20 you can taste the wines of Veneto, and they're paired with small bites and pizzas. It's also Wine On Wednesday at MK Chicago and you can sample their cuisine paired with wines from their cellar. After the tasting stay and get one of their bottles of wine for half-price. Everything in their cellar is available Sunday through Thursday through the end of the month - which is next Tuesday!
Music: The awesome intro and outro music is from Chicago singer/songwriter David Kav
Voice: Theresa Carter opens and closes the podcast, and Jim Goodrich tells you where to go With A Voice Like This
