Taste of TLT - December 8, 2011
Just north of Ogilvie Train Station, the Chicago French Market is a year-round indoor shopping experience. Tonight they'll be open late for their first Night Market. They'll dim the lights and you can enjoy dinner and drinks while browsing the vendors' wares to live music. Master Sommelier Alpana Singh will be on hand to help you pick out the perfect wine for your holiday festivities.
Baconfest sells out every April, but you don't have to wait until then to see the creative ways Chicago chefs serve up the famed meat. Tonight Custom House Tavern is hosting a Baconfest Satellite Dinner, starting with a cocktail reception with drinks prepared by Guest Mixologist Adam Seger. Dinner will include dishes like bacon wrapped trout and baked bacon cheddar grits. Tickets are $75 and include paired beers from Goose Island, wines, and cider.
Prolific and popular singer-songwriter Robbie Fulks is known for his creativity, being called "Chicago’s most fertile musical mind" by the Chicago Tribune. Today he'll be sharing his thoughts on creativity at Energy BBDO's Creative Salon series. The event is free and begins at 4pm.
Kenmore Live Studio's featured guest this evening is Chef David Blonsky of Public House. He'll be teaching how to make a meal perfect for Chanukah, including potato latkes and gefilte fish. It's free to join the live studio audience.
Have a great day!
