Taste of TLT - August 26, 27 & 28, 2011

Get a Taste of Greece this weekend in Greektown! This annual festival is a raucous celebration of their culture, with live music all the way until 11pm. There will be games for kids, belly dancers, and the Jesse White Tumblers will entertain.

It just makes sense that "Streeter"ville should host a street festival, and this weekend they are! The inaugural Streeterfest takes place Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 10pm, and like all Chicago street fests will feature food, shopping, and live music.

Logan Square is all about street festivals and this weekend the square is the site of Boulevard Bash. This event reflects the character of the neighborhood, with artisans, craft beer, and music from Mexican folk to bluegrass to a classical guitar duo.

Get out of town in style Saturday with City Provisions. Their last Farm Dinner will take you to Heritage Prairie in Elburn aboard a biodiesel bus. A cocktail from Templeton Rye will greet you and beers from Metropolitan Brewing will be enjoyed from start to finish, along with a special brew that Chef Friedman created in collaboration with the local brewery. There is, of course, food, and you'll be eating at the farm itself. At $250 it's not a cheap outing, but it's certainly one you'll remember.

Sunday is another event that features great, healthy food. Purple Asparagus is hosting their 7th Annual Corks and Crayons benefit. Uncommon Ground on Devon will open up their rooftop garden, there will be a mini-farmers market, and beverages will be provided by Candid Wines and Three Floyds Brewery.
