Taste of TLT - August 10, 2011

Join the Red Eye tonight as they invite you to Wind Down Wednesdays. For $20 you'll get three beers, free appetizers, a cruise on a Shoreline Charter, and live music at Navy Pier's LandShark Beer Garden. There will even be giveaways and games, and to cap off the night fireworks at 9:30.

Another way to relax under the stars is at the South Shore Cultural Center. Tonight's Movies In The Park is "Elvis: That's The Way It Is". Just leave the blue suede shoes at home - you wouldn't want to get sand in the seams.

When's the last time you played miniature golf? When's the last time you played it a stroke away from Lake Michigan? Tonight the Diversey Driving Range and miniature golf course is hosting Mini-Golf For Big Change. Play a round of golf for prizes and to help out the Crossroads Fund, an organization focused on social issues in the Chicago area.

Another way you can help out is by eating. A lot. Tonight is Share Our Strength's Taste of the Nation. This event brings together Chicago's top chefs and mixologists and highlights local spirits, craft beers, and fine wines. It's hosted at the Navy Pier ballroom and east lakeside plaza. VIP tickets are sold out but there are still general admission tickets available.

Have a great day!

Music: The awesome intro and outro music is from Chicago singer/songwriter David Kav
