A new art installation is being unveiled in Chicago's Loop neighborhood today. "Float" is a 500-square-foot-mural that wraps around the facade of the Century Building at 202 S. State Street. Created by St. Louis illustrator and designer Noah MacMillan, the colorful canvas depicts a make-believe parade of sea creatures through the streets of Chicago.

The Gateway, presented by the Chicago Loop AllianceThe installation is presented by the Chicago Loop Alliance, or CLA, in collaboration with the U.S. General Services Administration, which owns the Century Building. The CLA also recently opened "The Gateway", a public space that invites people to sit in the middle of State Street. Between Wacker Drive and Lake Street you can read a paper, sip on some coffee, or just relax in the median of one of the city's busiest streets.
