One of the most popular Christmas traditions in Chicago is to watch the Joffrey Ballet's Nutcracker at the gorgeous Auditorium Theatre. Imagine how thrilling it would be to be in Nutcracker!

Sadly, I'm too old, but children 9 to 14 are not! The ballet company is holding auditions for boys and girls on September 16. If your child wants to be part of the tradition, here are the details:

This annual audition is for all children interested in auditioning for The Nutcracker, from any studio or school, whether or not they have participated in The Joffrey’s Nutcracker in the past. We look for dancers to be between 4’-5’ tall and generally 9-14 years old. All dancers need to bring a headshot and audition form with them on the day of the audition and will be asked to stay until 3:00 pm.

Dancers should attend the audition based on age and height requirements listed below:
Age: 9-11
Height: 4’ - 4’5”
