Chicago Gets BOSS-y
There's a new Mayor in town, and this one's bound to stir up a few heated discussions here in Chicago.
Rahm Emanuel hasn't been ousted; there's a new series coming out on Starz centered around a fictional Chicago politician. In his first starring role in a dramatic series, Kelsey Grammer plays the "BOSS", a less-than ethical Mayor who uses his power to get things done the way he wants them done:
Mayor Tom Kane (Kelsey Grammer) sits like a spider at the center of Chicago’s web of power; a web built on a covenant with the people. They want to be led, they want disputes settled, jobs dispensed, and loyalties rewarded. If he achieves through deception and troubling morality, so be it. As long as he gets the job done, they look the other way.
The show premieres October 21, but since it's our dear city that's being featured (and some might say villified) it's only fitting that we get a sneak peek. Landmark Century Cinema is screening the first episode on October 18. Doors open at 6 and tickets are issued on a first come, first served basis, so get there early. Or know someone.
This is Chicago, after all.
