One thing we've learned on Charity Chat is that there are a LOT of wonderful charities, and all of them need help. On the show we aim to introduce people to these various non-profits, knowing that somebody listening might find a connection that draws them to one in particular. But what if you want to help more than one, or you don't have time to make a full-fledged commitment? That's where One Brick comes in.

One Brick is like "HR for non-profits". Charities reach out through the organization and volunteers choose from a variety of opportunties to help, from stuffing envelopes to registering guests at an event to food packaging. Each event has a social aspect built into it and there's no long term commitment. Meghan Stegemann and Andrea Schuster talked to us in this episode and it is filled with laughter. The ladies' enthusiasm is contagious; both of them said that after they went to their first One Brick event they "never left"!

You can check their calendar for upcoming volunteer opportunities and attend one of their events on March 16. Haymarket is hosting "Beer"-ware the Ides of March and if you bring a children's book you'll save $5 off the entrance fee.

Glenn was out of town, so our producer Jim Goodrich stepped in for this conversation. Thanks Jim!
