It’s summer in Peru with a low temperature of 73 degrees, which places its capital Lima very high up on my list of places to be right now.
In lieu of a 10 hour flight to South America, the Peruvian bar Tanta recently unveiled a list of spruced up libations with infused ice and hard-to-find ingredients like choclo (Peruvian corn), maracuya (a Peruvian version of passionfruit) and Pisco (South American grape brandy).
And since it’s still negative 5 outside, Tanta is offering a new warm cocktail Dulces Suenos, which includes spice-infused Pisco, Atholl Brose, lemon and tea.
An alternative to the Pisco-based drinks is the Pacha Mama featuring CH Vodka, Calvados (apple brandy), fresh beet juice, lemongrass syrup and lime.
The two new cocktails expand the restaurant’s offering to four draft options and seven made-to-order varieties.
If you don’t see me at Tanta this upcoming weekend, look for me on the beaches of Lima.
