Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan will perform a free show 8-hour today at Madame Zuzu’s Teashop and Art Studio in Highland Park.

Starting at noon, Corgan will perform a musical interpretation of Hermann Hesse's novel "Siddhartha," which deals with the spiritual journey of self-discovery of a man, and according to Madame Zuzu’s blog, the show is “built by modular synthesis, on the fly. Readings of the text to go hand in hand with whatever is created.”

The small tea house is not accepting reservations and customers will be rotated as needed to accommodate the greatest number of people. Since the show is free, customers are encouraged to order tea during the performance.

If you’re not sure what tea to order, a special tea called "Freak of Nature Oolong" will be offered to celebrate the occasion and limited edition posters and T-shirts will be sold.
