Over $40K raised at DIFFA's Chefs Table
On June 28, DIFFA board members, friends of the Board, design glitterati and food lovers gathered on the fabulous penthouse level of the Reid Murdoch/Whirlpool building for some mingling, good eating and drinking, all in support of DIFFA Chicago, a grantmaking org which distributes funds to deserving HIV/AIDS organizations. DIFFA's Chef's Table event was co-sponsored by Jenn-Air/Whirlpool, Moet & Chandon, Hum Spirits, BMW and Chicago Social magazine. Each individual kitchen hosted a chef plating her/ his delicious dishes, and Adam Seger of HUM, as well as reps from various wine brands were on hand to offer perfect pairings with the food. Moet's Ice Imperial proved to be a big hit because of its refreshing chill and stone fruit flavors-- exactly what was needed on a hot summer day.
Besides food and drink options, other offerings included Rendezvous, a live jazz band, a DJ pumping out thumping beats on the terrace, and a silent auction to benefit DIFFA. Some of the items up for auction were a Jenn-Air dual temp wine cooler, a $25,000 dream kitchen by Jenn-Air, or a luxury weekend hosted by BMW and Boka, alongside other items. The total amount raised from the auction and ticket sales was $41,000.
The end of the night was just as strong as the rest of the night. On the way out, guests received a hearty gift bag that included a Laguiole cheese board and knives. And if that wasn't enough, to top it all off, they were offered chauffered rides home in fully loaded 2013 BMW models. A perfect way to end a fabulous evening.
