Crosby's Kitchen - The MOST kid-friendly restaurant in the city!

Have you been over to Crosby's Kitchen, Lakeview's new hip eatery, that might just be Chicago's MOST family-friendly restaurant?

Last week I met three other moms and a gaggle of kids (seven kids under five to be exact) at Crosby's Kitchen (3455 Southport) for bite to eat.  Sounds painful you say...not at Crosby's Kitchen.  The geniuses behind Frasca's Pizzeria and Wine Bar, Dunlay's on the Square and Dunaly's on Clark, a few of my other favorite places to dine with my kiddos, recently opened this Lakeview eatery.  Like Frasca's and Dunlay's on the Square, Crosby's Kitchen boast KIDS EAT FREE every day between 4-6pm.  This alone earns them some brownie points in my book. I hate spending $6 bucks on a grilled cheese my three-year-old barely eats!

What sets Crosby's Kitchen apart is not their kids meal deal or their delicious food (I love their Wrightwood Salad), but their careful attention to detail with regards to what urban families are looking for in a restaurant.  The front doors are wider to easily accommodate a double stroller, they offer stroller valet parking (see FREE mom-mosa valet ticket above), real booster seats (the kind you use at home with seatbelts), changing stations in both bathrooms and of course coloring sheets and crayons to keep the little ones busy.  I also love that their kids meals come with a scoop of ice cream.  Not only do my kids love the tasty treat, but it gives me time to finish my meal and my glass of wine at a leisurely pace.

I'm not the only one who has Crosby's Kitchen on my short list of restaurants to frequent.  If you are heading there on a weekend night, you may want to call ahead and make reservations to avoid having to wait for a table.

Yummy food, kid-friendly atmosphere and a full bar...what more could an urban family ask for!

What I want is another restaurant with an enclosed playroom like at Leona's in Rogers Park, but one with better food. THAT would be the most family-friendly restaurant.
