Cheaper Than Gas

28 December 2006 Send To a Friend

Through January 5, Metra is letting up to 3 children under 12 ride free with each fare-paying adult. If you’re traveling on the weekend you can get an unlimited ride pass for $5 (year-round). Once you get into the city, the free trolley system takes you to downtown Chicago’s most popular attractions.

The change of the Bears game time from noon to 7:15 on New Year’s Eve could cause some transportation concerns. Don’t worry; you can take the CTA Bus #128 directly to Soldier Field from Ogilvie or Union Station for only $1 more. Only children 6 and under are free on the CTA, but kids 7 to 11 pay $0.50. After 8pm and until 6am New Year’s Day the CTA is offering penny rides, and they’re also providing later service.

I’d say that’s a bit cheaper than a DUI.
