Charity Chat Episode 14: Advocates for Adolescent Mothers
Glenn and I have talked with some amazing people over the last few months on Charity Chat. Starting and running a nonprofit requires dedication, drive and selflessness. On this episode we talked with someone who overcame seemingly insurmountable hurdles to create Advocates for Adolescent Mothers, a 501c3 that's beginning its second year.
Lillian Harris was a teenage mother who was homeless twice. Yet she not only graduated from college with a Bachelor's in Social Work, she also has an Administrative Master's degree of Social Service Administration from the University of Chicago. During our chat this incredible woman talks about how she not only created a successful life for herself, but is turning those experiences into an organization that helps other young mothers who are still kids themselves.
