This week’s band: Satellite Hero

I saw Satellite Hero back in November at Elbo Room. They were competing in the 2nd round of the Bodog Battle of the Bands, and as soon as I heard them I knew they were going to be selected for the next round. As the judges said, they were “the clear winner of the night.” Kate, the bass guitarist, certainly impressed me - she had a cast on her leg and rested it on a chair, and actually sat down on the stage when it got to be too much, but you never would have known it from her playing!
Satellite Hero will be at Metro this Saturday for the Bodog Battle of the Bands Midwest Regional Semi-Finals. They, and fourteen other bands (including TLT featured bands Lucid Ground and Abstract Giants), are hoping to win the ultimate prize: a $1 million recording contract.
