This week’s band: Reverie
10 December 2007 Send To a Friend
Once again, the entire lineup at a Chicago music venue has been featured on TLT! This time it’s the Cubby Bear. On Saturday, four great bands take the stage at this popular spot in Wrigleyville: Algren, Lucid Ground, Bullet Called Life, and this week’s featured band, Reverie. (Tickets are only $7!)
From the band:
“In a mere three years after reuniting as cohesive unit Chicago natives Reverie have become a promising component in an ongoing battle between the doldrummed mediocrity of current trends and the devotion to innovation and originality… After gaining a devoted following and around there way through the local and college scenes Reverie is sharing the stage of Chicago’s finest rock venues and festivals with fellow local artists such as Camera, Lucid Ground, AMFM, and Turn of the Century.
The air conditioner: broken. The day: sweltering hot. Two twelve-year-old kids on a mission to jam their way out of the heat. The melodic alignment that is Stephen DiCicco (guitar/vocals), Kevin Schneider (bass) is a relationship that forged over 12 years ago when the guitarist and drummer first paired up and shared their love of music, working to create an aggressive yet melodic soundscape.
After many years and short stints with various experimental bands honing their craft, the two squeezed their creativity into the beta version of Reverie, labeled “Anodyne” - a five-piece minor key alt-rock band. It was here where Kevin, a longtime friend joined forces. Personal deterrents and anti-prolific members eventually pulled the band apart, leaving the weight of education to bear down and shoot the three in separate paths. The three eventually would each lift the veil off from over the collegiate world and decided once and for all to fully invest themselves in the music business. In June of 2004, they would become the unified Rock trio “Reverie.”
Having been featured in online and print publications such as “The Pioneer Press”, “Northwest Indiana Times, and on local radio stations Q101’s Local 101, and 93.1 WXRT’s Local Anesthetic shows the group continues to reinvent its sound and tours regionally. “shakY comA” the band’s first full length album was self produced and released in Febryary of 2007. After completion of a recent tour Reverie has begun preproduction on their locally anticipated sophomore release, due out Summer of 2008.”
