This week’s band has a very special place in my heart, and they’re the reason a local band is featured each week on The Local Tourist.
Two years ago I was mugged. Just before it happened William and the guys from Juzt Nutz had found me on MySpace, and when they read about my experience they were incredibly supportive, checking in with me frequently to make sure I was OK. I went to their next show to meet them face to face and say thank you. They were great. Unfortunately there were only 11 people in the bar - including the band and the bartender. I couldn’t believe this great band was basically playing to an empty room and came up with the idea to start featuring a local act with an upcoming show.
Since then over 90 bands have been featured, and this week I’m pleased to finally be able to showcase the one that started it all.
They’ve got an important show this Wednesday at The Tonic Room. Please come and have some fun with me!
