I first saw the Andreas Kapsalis Trio at the E-Coustic Chicago benefit concert earlier this year, and I was captivated by Andreas’ skill and eight-fingered stylings on the guitar, Darren Garvey’s almost schizophrenic ability on a multitude of instruments, and Jamie Gallagher’s precision on the drums.
They recently ended a two year residency at Tonic Room and they’re getting ready to go on tour out west. Your last chance to see them in Chicago for awhile is on May 28 at Katerina’s. Go, and you, too, will be mesmerized by their unique blend of jazz and flamenco.
