Chicago Hotels - Business Travel Awards
28 March 2007 Send To a FriendEntrepreneur Magazine just came out with its 14th Annual Business Travel Awards. Three hotel chains that have locations in downtown Chicago were recipients.
Best Midprice Hotel Value:
Hilton Garden Inn, 10 E Grand Ave
This midprice hotel offers tons of amenities. It caters to the business traveler with the 24-hour business center with free printing, copying, and faxing, and complimentary wireless Internet access. The fitness minded can work out in the 24-hour fitness center and indoor pool, or use their complimentary yoga and Pilates room kits. The room itself is equipped with a Herman Miller Mirra ergonomic chair, a mattress with adjustable firmness, and HDTVs.
Best Upscale Hotel Value:Â
W Hotels
W Chicago City Center, 172 W Adams St
WÂ Chicago Lakeshore, 644 N Lake Shore Dr
W Hotels provide more of an experience. They have restaurants and nightclubs, plus events like wine tastings and book signings. The rooms are appointed with pillow-top mattresses, Bliss bathroom products, and goose down comforters. You can even choose your own pillow from a menu. These hotels are also known for their service, and have cosmetic and fashion survival kits if you left anything behind.
Best New Hotel Brand:
Hotel Indigo, 1244 N Dearborn Pkwy
Although it’s owned by InterContinental Hotels Group, this new brand bills itself as a boutique hotel. It’s located in the Gold Coast just north of Division. There are, of course, a business center and a fitness center, but there’s also an on-site salon. It’s also more of a value considering the design and the location.
