This must be the time to get pampered. This month you can receive $31 spa treatments from several salons for Pretty In Pink, which benefits Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization. Additionally, now through the end of the week you can also get $50 spa treatments. Spa Week began in New York as a way to make salon treatments more inclusive than exclusive.

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The city shows its support by lighting many of the skyscrapers pink, and local spas are helping out by offering $31 treatments, and proceeds benefit Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization.
$31 Spa Treatment Issues?
I just received an email from a newsletter subscriber about the $31 spa treatments. She said either she couldn't get in touch with the salon, or they hadn't heard about it. Has anyone else had this issue? Please comment yea/nay.

The fact that I actually saw pink Tic Tacs at the register in Walgreen’s today made me realize that it seems as though this year more than ever, there has been an increased amount of companies supporting the fight against breast cancer. Rightfully so, since the American Cancer Association tells us that over 150,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer each year and 45,000 women die of this disease every year in the United States alone.

Get "Fresh" - Do It Yourself Sunburn Relief
True story.
In preparation for what was intended to be a healthy dinner, I rinsed a vibrant orange bell pepper and proceeded to dry it off with a paper towel. What I saw horrified me; the white towel became a perfect canvas for the orange dye that came off of my pepper! I was shocked. But then again, in a world that unfortunately is largely driven by appearance, even my pepper had some “work†done.
This experience inspired me to take a trip last Saturday to the Green City Market in Lincoln Park.
